Mohamed Salah continued his incredible season with both goals in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday, giving them a nine-point lead in the Premier League title chase.
The Egyptian has now surpassed Frank Lampard as 6th all time goal scorer in Premier League.
Against a team that had won 11 league games, Arne Slot’s team occasionally had luck, but Salah once again made the difference by increasing his league total to 21 this season.
With a penalty kick after 30 minutes and a beautiful second goal in the 75th minute, Salah has now scored more than 20 goals in a Premier League season five times.
Seventh-place Bournemouth twice struck the woodwork, first via Marcus Tavernier just before Salah sealed the victory and then through Antoine Semenyo when it was 0-0.
With 23 games played, Liverpool has 56 points, while Nottingham Forest and Arsenal are in second and third position, respectively, with 47.
On Sunday, Arsenal will play Manchester City, who are currently in fourth place with 41.
