Francisco San Martin—a Spanish actor who appeared in a number of soap operas such as Days of Our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful—died on Jan. 16 at his home, according to Deadline. He was 39.
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office, per the outlet, his cause of death was suicide.
San Martin was born on the Spanish island of Mallorca before growing up in Montana, per the publication. He returned to Spain as a teenager, living in Madrid, where he began modeling and taking acting classes before eventually being case in Spanish stage, TV and film productions.
San Martin was cast on Days of Our Lives in 2011 as Dario Hernandez, a petty thief who is revealed to be investigating a cold case. San Martin portrayed Hernandez for six months before his character moved to Argentina, with Jordi Vilasuso later portraying Hernandez in 2016.
