Kelechi Nwakali, a midfielder for Nigeria, has been named Barnsley’s December Goal of the Month.
Nwakali was declared the winner by Barnsley in a statement posted on their website on Friday.
“Reds fans have voted Kelechi Nwakali the December Goal of the Month winner,” the club stated.
“The Nigerian midfielder struck home against Exeter City on December 14 in Devon, volleying from the edge of the area just after the restart to level proceedings at St James Park.
“December Player of the Month, Davis Keillor-Dunn scored just before the hour mark to wrap up three points on the road for the Reds.
“Nwakali was presented his award by Reds fan and boxer, Callum Simpson at Oakwell.”
On August 12, 2024, Nwakali signed a three-year contract with League One team Barnsley for an undisclosed sum.
This season, he has made nine appearances and scored one goal for Barnsley.
