Manchester City are close to signing 24-year-old Andrea Cambiaso from Juventus.
Cambiaso came through Genoa’s academy before joining Juventus in a £7.2 million deal in 2022.
The left-back quickly established himself as a regular player last season after spending a year on loan at Bologna.
Cambiaso is now on the verge of joining the Premier League champions during the ongoing January transfer window.
According to Sky Sports Italy, an agreement worth up to £54.7 million is close to being reached with Juventus for Cambiaso’s transfer.
The report added that Man City are ready to offer the Italian a five-year contract, which will include an option for an additional 12 months.
Juventus are reportedly holding out for a £67.3 million fee, but there is a ‘good chance’ a compromise will be reached with the Cityzens.
Cambiaso has started just one of Juventus’ last nine matches.
Juventus manager Thiago Motta revealed last weekend that the defender has been dealing with inflammation issues.
His current contract with Juventus is set to expire in 2029.
