Despite the postponement of the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship CHAN, the draws was held on Wednesday in Kenya.
The draws which showcased Africa rich cultural heritage and music took place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi with performance from the iconic Bien from Sauti Sol along with Uganda’s Ghetto Kids and Kenya’s Red Fourth Choir.
The draws gathered more momentum following CAF announcement of increased prize with the winners going home with $3.5 million, a 75% increase from the previous edition, while the total prize pool now stands at $10.4 million.
The draw assistants were Kenya’s McDonald Mariga, Tanzania’s Mrisho Ngasa, and Uganda’s Hassan Wasswa.
They were joined by the CAF Director of Competitions, Samson Adamu, who conducted the draw.
The three host country were seeded in Group A, B and C while reigning champions, Senegal heralded Group D.
