The Organising Committee of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has given three points and three goals to Team Rhino after their successful appeal against BST Galaxy in a first division match.
BST have been penalised for fielding an ineligible player in the person of Ousman Babou Sanneh in their week three game and the decision came following a protest by Team Rhino to the Organising Committee.
In its ruling, the GFF Organising Committee:BST Galaxy has requested an international transfer certificate from Tunisian Club Avenir Sportif de Doliman through the TMS. However, the player, Ousman Babou Sanneh, is yet to receive his international transfer certificate (ITC) from the Tunisian Federation.
The GFF rules and regulations regarding international transfer (Article 5, Subsection 11, page 7 of the amended 2023 version) states: “International transfer of players shall be governed by FIFA regulations.
FIFA regulations governing international transfer requires an international transfer certificate (ITC) for a player to be eligible to play from one Football Association/Federation to the other. Thus, the player’s registration is incomplete to play in the league until his ITC is cleared. Thus, the protest is valid.
Team Rhino is now awarded the points and goals as per the GFF Disciplinary Code Article 21A.
However, BST Galaxy reserves the right to appeal this decision within the guidelines of the GFF rules and regulations and the Disciplinary Code.
