Scorchers captain Tabitha Chawinga and her younger sister Temwa have made it into the top five nominees of 2024 Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) Women’s Player of the year award.
The 2024 CAF Awards, which cover period from January to October this year, will be staged on 16 December, 2024 in Marrakech, Morocco. The Chawinga Sisters join Sanaâ Mssoudy (Morocco), Chiamaka Nnadozie (Nigeria) and Barbra Banda (Zambia) in the race for the award.
This year’s nominees reflect the excellence in women’s football across the continent after their impressive performances at club and national team level. The winners of the award will be determined through votes from the CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, head coaches and captains of Member Associations.
