Two persons have been arrested by the Kwara State Police Command for allegedly stealing a Toyota Camry car.
The arrest was disclosed by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, in a statement on Wednesday.
He noted that the car which was reportedly stolen in Lagos State, was found at a spare parts dealer’s shop in the Ipata-Oloje area in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
He added that the suspects, Gabiyu Lawal, 43, who hails from Babasoja, Gambari, Ilorin, and Ademola Waheed, 45, from Sango Road, Ilorin, were intercepted with the vehicle.
The suspects admitted purchasing the vehicle for a suspiciously low price of ₦400,000 and intended to resell it in Ilorin for ₦1,000,000.
“Further investigations are underway to identify other accomplices and unravel the full extent of their criminal activities,” the statement said.
