The 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League Group B match between Edo Queens and FC Masar ended in a goalless draw on Wednesday.
Either team may have advanced to the competition’s semifinals with a victory. After defeating the reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0, FC Masar was feeling quite confident and wanted to keep up the good work.
The Edo Queens, who easily defeated the Central Bank of Ethiopia 3-0, were also looking to capitalise on their strong showing.
Both goalkeepers and a group of defenders were on high alert during the tight match, and despite the many opportunities generated, none of the two debutants was able to break the deadlock.
As a consequence, Queens continue to hold a four-point lead at the top of Group B, with Masar trailing closely behind.
On Saturday, Edo Queens will play their final group match against Sundowns.
