Real Madrid veteran Luka Modrić has offered support for teammate Kylian Mbappé, who has struggled to match his Paris Saint-Germain form since joining the Spanish giants.
Despite scoring eight goals in 15 appearances, Mbappé has recently struggled with finishing, failing to convert chances in Madrid’s 4-0 win over Osasuna.
This has also been the Frenchman’s lot in Real Madrid’s previous games across domestic and continental football.
Meanwhile, Modrić has voiced confidence in the French forward, saying, “Don’t doubt Mbappé.
“I’m sure he will help us a lot in the future. He will show everyone why he has been and still is one of the best players in the world.”
Madrid’s win over Osasuna in the La Liga on Saturday, however, was largely driven by Vinicius Junior.
The Brazilian netted a hat-trick, leading the team to a much-needed victory after Champion League loss to AC Milan during the midweek.
The win puts Real Madrid within six points of La Liga leaders Barcelona, who play Real Sociedad on Sunday with a chance to restore their nine-point lead.
