Firm embarks on street food drive, introduces ‘price lock’ initiative

by admin

In celebration of the World Food Day on October 16 and to alleviate the burdens of Nigerians especially when it comes to feeding, occasioned by the continued hike in food prices in Nigeria, DEFP (December Ease Food Package), an initiative of Gvest cooperative Multipurpose Society, in partnership with Ask Roxanne Errands, embarked on an initiative to raise hunger awareness to gift food items to support people on the streets of Lagos.

The December Ease Food Package (DEFP) was created to solve the economic challenges faced every day by the average Nigerian.
Speaking to Nigerian Tribune the Vice President of Gvest Cooperative Multipurpose Society, Ikenna Mba, said, “This is to ease their December amidst the daily hike in the price of foodstuff. It provides the community access to December food items at the September price and also creates a platform for DEFP community members to pay in instalments from September to December.

“This year’s food theme was ‘Food for a better life and a future’ and in pursuit of this vision, we at Gvest, in partnership with Ask Roxanne Errands decided in the initiative to cushion the effect of the high cost of food on the average Nigerian and as our own contribution to the growth of our economy.”
