Protesters who gathered at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria North Gate, with plans to march towards PZ area of the city, were, on Thursday, dispersed by the military to prevent further escalation.

A source confirmed to LEADERSHIP correspondent, “I’m sure no one was killed and no bullet was fired.”

LEADERSHIP reports that the protests, also dubbed ’10 Days of Rage,’ which began on August 1, have seen significant participation by citizens from various cities.

While the protests have been hijacked by hoodlums in states like Kano, Borno, Yobe and Kaduna States, two of the state governments have imposed a 24-hour curfew.

In contrast, residents of Benue have shunned the protest amid tight security, and one death has been recorded in Niger State.
