2025 AFCON: Sakala arrives in Zambia camp as Mutale ruled out due to injury

Czech Republic based Benson Sakala has joined camp in Ndola completing the squad summoned for duty for the back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Meanwhile Italy based Lameck Banda and the Tanzania domiciled Joshua Mutale have been ruled out of the two Group G matches against Coted’Ivoire and Sierra Leone due to injury.

Banda who is carrying a niggling injury travelled to Ndola with the medics confirming that he not fully recovered to participate in the two matches while Mutale limped off training on Monday.

Coach Avram Grant will be without Cagliari striker Kingstone Mutandwa whose club opted not to release him as he is undergoing medical rehabilitation.

Meanwhile Mutondo Stars forward Jackson has been drafted in the provisional squad as the technical bench explores options for the unavailable players.

The Chipolopolo host Coted’Ivoire on Friday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola at 18:00 hours.

Tickets for the match are selling via Computicket in all Shoprite outlets with the prices being K50 (North&South), K60 (East), K150 (West) and K600 (VIP).

Coted’Ivoire top Group G on nine points while Zambia is second on seven points with Sierra Leone third on four points.Chad are at the bottom on two points.
