Iheanacho Benched As Sevilla Win Away Against Espanyol

by admin

Sevilla defeated Espanyol 2-0 on the road in La Liga on Friday, but Kelechi Iheanacho was benched.

In the last three games for Sevilla, Iheanacho has been benched.

His most recent appearance for the team was in a 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao on the road on September 29.

Since moving from Leicester City to Sevilla in the summer, the 28-year-old has made five appearances for the team.

Dodi Lukebakio’s brace in the first half of Friday’s match was sufficient to guarantee the three points.

In the 20th minute, Lukebakio gave the team the lead, and just before halftime, he made it 2-0.

Chidera Ejuke, Iheanacho’s Nigerian teammate, is out for three months following a hamstring injury sustained during the match against Barcelona.
