Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Ododo has approved the sum of N10,000 as harmonization allowance for all pensioners in the state.

The governor made the approval after the presentation of the pension report by the Head of Civil Service, Elijah Evenemi.

Odoso said his administration is committed in prioritizing the welfare of senior citizens in Kogi State.

He appreciated the pensioners for their service during their active years in service.

“My administration will continue to build on the achievement of the former governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello. Pensioners that earn less than N50,000 will be enrolled into the health insurance scheme both from state and local government level.

“Since my assumption of office, pensioners have been receiving their monthly pensions as at when due,” Ododo stated.

Earlier, the Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Ohida Otaru, appreciated Ododo for the audience given the union after 20 years of not having an interface with a governor over the welfare of their members.
