Maxi Nzengeli’s last-minute goal secured a thrilling 1-0 victory for Young Africans over Simba at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, on Saturday.

The decisive moment came from a well-taken free kick by Clatous Chama, whose powerful strike overpowered Simba goalkeeper Moussa Camara.

Despite the defenders’ efforts to clear the danger, the ball fell perfectly for Nzengeli, who found himself in the right place at the right time to score in the 90th minute.

The goal ignited wild celebrations among Yanga fans, as their team climbed to second in the league log, with 15 points and extended their unbeaten streak to five matches.

Meanwhile, Simba tasted first defeat of the season, dropping to fourth place in the table with 13 points after six games. The highly anticipated Dar es Salaam Derby between Yanga and Simba lived up to expectations, showcasing intense rivalry and skillful play.

The match kicked off at an electrifying pace, setting the stage for an exciting showdown. In the sixth minute, Simba’s winger, Joshua Mutale, made a penetrating run, delivering a pass to Leonel Ateba, who tried to maneuver past Yanga’s goalkeeper, Diara.
