The Police in North London have said they got information about the Tuesday shooting which left one person dead in Waltheof Gardens, Tottenham through calls from residents.
According to a London Ambulance Service spokesperson, police were called at 9.11 am on Tuesday to report the shooting.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast-response car and an incident response officer.
“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. Our first paramedics arrived on scene in approximately five minutes.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a person was pronounced dead at the scene,” the spokesperson is quoted by local media.
The deceased is said to be in his 40s.
Meanwhile, a 56-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in a North London police station.
Police have cordoned off the area while they investigate.
Leader of the investigating team, Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley, is quoted to have said: “We are yet to formally identify the victim of this tragic incident. We will continue to carry out efforts to ensure his family is informed and supported by specialist officers. A post-mortem examination will also be scheduled in due course.
“We are appealing for anyone who was present in the area who may have seen or heard anything relating to this incident to please get in touch.
