Fire destroys residence of Zamfara Speaker

The residence of the Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki, was destroyed by fire in Gusau, the state capital. The Clerk of the House described the incident as the will of Allah.

The fire occurred on Sunday, with no lives lost, but properties worth millions of naira were damaged.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Bello Madaro, the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu, expressed shock on behalf of the Assembly and its staff, lamenting the incident as a tragic event.

The Clerk referred to the inferno as an act destined by Allah and extended sympathy to the Speaker, his family, and his constituents in Zurmi West.

Speaker Moriki expressed gratitude to Allah for the preservation of life and thanked all those who assisted in containing the fire. The blaze resulted in the destruction of properties worth millions of naira.
