Gombe Government Approves Buffer Zone Around Air Force Base

by admin

Governor Inuwa Yahaya has instructed the Gombe State Geographic Information System (GOGIS) to fast-track the process of establishing a buffer zone around the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Combat Reconnaissance Base in the state.

Speaking while receiving the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar at the Government House in Gombe yesterday, the governor also ordered that the buffer zone be connected to the Gombe regional water expansion system.

The directive followed an appeal to the state government for a piece of land to establish a buffer zone around the base during the courtesy visit to the governor.

The chief of air staff in his remarks commended the state government for its support in making the air force base habitable for NAF personnel, noting that the base had become a model for others in the country.

He expressed appreciation for the governor’s commitment to providing necessary logistics and infrastructure to aid operations of the Air Force in Gombe State.
