Overland Airways, A Letdown

by admin

The disappointment I experienced with Overland Airways this week was incredible, and I don’t pray to have anything to do with the airline again. It made my trip to Dutse a traumatic experience.

Overland is the only airline that flies that route, so when I had to travel to the Jigawa state capital, my choice was limited.

I booked a return ticket to travel to Dutse on Monday, July 15, and return on Wednesday, July 17. Around 4 pm on Sunday, July 14, I received an SMS announcing that the flight had been canceled due to “operational reasons.” Because I had a scheduled appointment, I had to make alternative arrangements, which drained my energy.

While in Dutse, I got a message early Tuesday morning that the Dutse-Abuja flight for Wednesday, like Monday’s Abuja-Dutse flight, had also been canceled.

I was upset. For the record, I flew Overland only once before, to Jalingo in 2018, and the experience was not pleasant. When the opportunity to use Overland again this week arose, I took it with mixed feelings. True to my instincts, the experience was terrible. I don’t wish to fly with the airline ever again! I have since demanded an unconditional, immediate refund.
