The Uganda Cranes CHAN team held their final preparations on Saturday morning at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, ahead of the return leg match against Burundi in the CHAN 2024 Qualifiers.
All 26 summoned players are in excellent shape and trained collectively under the close supervision of the technical team, attentively following instructions and tactics for the anticipated match.
Head Coach Paul Put stated that they are focused on building a strong CHAN team, emphasising minimal changes to the squad to foster cohesion and strong partnerships among the players.
‘We are analysing the CHAN team, and after assessing the first game, we identified areas that need improvement to ensure better performance moving forward.
“If we make too many changes, we may lose the opportunity to gauge the team’s true competitiveness. While some adjustments will be made, we aim to retain the core of the team to build their confidence and maintain continuity.’ said Coach Put before calling upon Ugandans.
‘Ugandans have always been incredible supporters of the Cranes, and I believe they will show the same enthusiasm this time against Burundi. These are their boys, and they need their unwavering support.’
He added, ‘Thank you, Ugandans, for the tremendous support that contributed to the team’s success. You created a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere, and we look forward to experiencing the same energy come 2025.’
