Over 1.7 million candidates are taking part in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination nationwide scheduled to run from May 6 to 16.

This was made known by the Head of Media, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Dr. Fabian Benjamin in Abuja.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board stated that the examination would be conducted for 1,761,338 candidates that successfully registered for the examination in 755 registered Computer Based Centres.

JAMB says the board had put in place all measures to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.

Meanwhile, a visit to some of the CBT Centres in Abuja indicates that JAMB has done it’s quota in the conduct of the 2022 UTME.

Some stakeholders and some candidates who spoke with ACCESS 24 CREW on the second day of the examination noted that the exams were hitch free, while some CBT Administrators testified that the synergy between JAMB and CBT Centres is efficiently working.

JAMB says all candidates would be checked into the examination hall using the Biometric Verification Machine, which is also a register of attendance in line with the Board’s policy.
