A Central Market in Yola town, Yola South Local Government area of Adamawa State is on fire and sources revealed that many shops have been razed down.
The cause of the fire outbreak is not yet known as the state capital is under a curfew imposed by the state government as a result of insecurity threats by hoodlums.
Sources revealed that many shops have been burnt but the quick response and intervention of firefighters of the state and Nigerian federal government has stopped the blaze from further escalation.
The market has had some fire outbreaks on a yearly basis. There’s suspicion of poor electricity connection or faulty wiring being responsible.
