Wojciech Szczęsny’s contract details at FC Barcelona

Barring a turnaround, Wojciech Szczęsny will come out of retirement and sign with FC Barcelona early next week. The former Arsenal and Juventus goalkeeper is currently in Spain to improve his fitness before undergoing his medical on Monday.

According to Sport, the former Polish international (84 caps) will receive a gross salary of three million euros per month and his contract will last for a single season in Catalonia.

The arrival of the 34-year-old goalkeeper coincides with Marc-André ter Stegen’s knee injury. The German goalkeeper will not return until next season. The recruitment of Szczęsny will also allow Hansi Flick to benefit from another experienced player, who has taken part in 68 Champions League matches in his career, and a competitor for Iñaki Pena.
