A call has gone to the Nigerian civil populace and civil societies to galvanize support to defeat Terrorism in Nigeria. www.dopereporters.com
Director Defence Media Operations (DMO), General Edward Buba made the call in Abuja while briefing Journalists on the ongoing military operations across the country. He explained that the lifeline of these terrorist groups is the people, as according to him, winning the war without the support of the people is close to impossible.
General Buba noted that the main objective of the military is to defeat the terrorists and their cohorts by denying them the ability to continue to fight.
General Buba also described the illegal mining and kidnapping enterprise in the North West and North Central as being perpetrated under the guise of terrorism.
While expressing concern over the agitation of IPOB in the South East which has proven to be for self engrandisement and the call for a Yoruba Nation which he described as laughable, he said all these buttress how the security situation is self inflicted in the country.
The high Command of the Nigerian Military is sending a strong warning that anyone or group that contravene this provision of the constitution is inviting severe military action and would be dealt with decisively.
The Nigerian Military said it has no choice but to continue to fight to defeat the enemy and create a safer environment for citizens, as it is strong, resilient, focused, proud and committed.
