VIDEO: President Tinubu observes Eid-El-Kabir prayers in Lagos

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to show more care for their neighbours and extend charity to all in the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir.

President Tinubu who joined Muslim faithful to observe Eid Kabir prayers at the Dodan Barracks in Ikoyi, Lagos, enjoined Nigerians to reflect on the essence of the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.

 

The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat; former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola; businessman Aliko Dangote, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, and other dignitaries were also at the praying ground.

 

The President said some level of sacrifice will be required to move the nation forward.

In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Lagos State, Sheikh Suleiman Oluwatoyin Abou-Nolla, who led the prayers, reiterated the need for more love, sacrifice and care for the poor and the vulnerable.

The Chief Imam of Lagos urged citizens to pray that God Almighty grant the President the strength and wisdom to deliver on his vision for a better and prosperous nation.

 

The Eid-el-Kabir festival is celebrated by Muslims worldwide on the 10th day of the Hijri month of Dhual-Hijjah in the Islamic calendar.
