Oxfam is empowering and supporting the victims of insurgency in Nigeria’s North-east.

It is doing this with grants towards the rehabilitation of communities devastated by insurgency in the northern part of Adamawa State.

This is an intervention to restore peace and development after over a decade of armed conflict in North-East Nigeria.

These efforts are being carried out by the Oxfam, the German government and other international development partners with the collaboration with the Adamawa State.

This flag off of grant competition is the Phase One and all the 16 wards in Michika LGA Adamawa state will benefit from the grants.

The ceremony which marks another stage in the implementation of the social cohesion and inclusive community development plan spanning five years had over one hundred and fifty participants comprising representatives of affected communities, state and local government planners and officials of Oxfam, CRUDAN, CEPAD and other development partners.

A key component of the new approach to achieving sustained and inclusive community development planning and implementation as initiated by the Adamawa State government in collaboration with Oxfam, Germany and other development partners is the mobilisation, sensitization and training of key drivers of the programme at all levels.

The event which took place in Michika, Local government area of Adamawa State had in attendance, ward development support committees of 16 wards and other stakeholders who will compete to determine which community implements the best people-oriented projects in their various communities
