VIDEO: Nigerian Military warns against attacks on personnel

The Defence Headquarters has warned against unprovoked attacks on its personnel by civilians.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba who gave the warning while addressing journalists on the ongoing military operations in Abuja noted that such occurrences are unhealthy for National Security, counterproductive and amount to self-sabotage.

According to him, the unprovoked killings of 17 personnel in Okuama in Delta State, coupled with the recent assault of unarmed personnel at Banex Plaza in Abuja is worrisome and leaves much to be desired.
General Buba further explained that such occurrences do not only negatively impact the troops’ morale but also jeopardize the common interest of maintaining peace and security in the country, as he called on the civilians to appreciate the contributions of the military personnel by being mindful of their utterances and actions against them.
On the troops’ operational successes in May, the Director said their stamina and commitment to destroy the terrorists remains unwavering as they neutralised 624 terrorists, and arrested 1,051 terrorists including their logistic suppliers and informants.
