VIDEO: Dapo Abiodun emerges Southern Governors Forum Chairman

The Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun has emerged the chairman of the Nigerian Southern governors’ forum while the governor of Anambra state Prof Charles Soludo serves as his deputy.

This was communicated by the chairman of the Southwest governors’ forum and the governor of Lagos State ,Babajide Sanwoolu after the forum’s meeting held at the Presidential Lodge in Abeokuta,the state capital.

Giving his acceptance speech after the meeting which lasted for over Five hours,the chairman of the forum,Dapo Abiodun not to betray the confidence reposed in him and his vice by his colleagues.

 

The governors arrived to the waiting hands of the Ogun state governor and other members of the state executive council

This was followed by the inspection of the guard of honour mounted by men of the Ogun state police command by the governors.

This achieved, the governo in company of their host moved to the venue of the meeting held behind close doors attended by Thirteen governor’s and three deputy governor’s,with the Rivers State governor Similaye Fubara was absent from the meeting which lasted for about Five hours

The meeting over, the chairman of the Southwest governors’ forum who also doubles as the governor of Lagos State,Babajide Sanwoolu announced the nomination of the host governor, Dapo Abiodun as the chairman of the forum

The new chairman of the forum,Dapo Abiodun thanked his colleagues for the honour and promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him and his vice chairman, Prof Charles Soludo,he however promised journalists that communiques for the meeting would be communicated in due course

Governor Dapo Abiodun is replacing the former governor of Ondo state, the late Rotimi Aketedolu and he is expected to give the necessary leadership for the growth and development of the region
