Women in politics in Adamawa State have indicated their resolve to hoist themselves to participate in local government polls ahead of the forthcoming local government election in the state.

The women said they are poised to conquer the political landscape through advocates, diplomacy, good relationships and good conduct to win the hearts of stakeholders and members of their communities.

To this end, they indicated their resolve to go out and occupy chairmanship and vice chairmanship positions during the coming local government polls in the state.

Making the call on behalf of Adamawa women in politics, the leader of the women, Zainab Sa’idu said, that women are rightly suited to occupy high and sensitive political offices because of their sensitivity towards the rights of every member of the society.

Also speaking, Aminu Adamu the mobilisation officer of the Garga Foundation said the goal of organising the workshop is to prod women into participating in electoral processes as women have been seriously left behind.

He added that a lot of factors including cultural and socio-economic challenges have been identified as some of the major stumbling blocks for women’s participation in politics.
