UN Charges Nigeria On Credible General Elections (Watch)

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) of the United Nations and Head of the UN Office for West and Sahel, Mr. Mahamat Saleh Annadif visited the National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja with a charge to see the 2023 General Elections conducted Free, Fair and Credible in all parts of Nigeria.

Annadifith gave the charge on Monday 27 June, 2022 while addressing the national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja. It was part of the UN engagement with critical stakeholders in the 2023 General Elections. He stressed the need for APC as the party in power to play its part in ensuring a free and fair electoral process in 2023.

In response, APC National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, represented by the Party’s Deputy National Chairman (North), Sen. Abubakar Kyari, assured the entire UN body through the SRSG that the APC is committed to the ideals of democratic governance and observance of rule of law in all its undertakings, and shall continue to apply them diligently while canvassing for votes and while it forms the next national government in 2023.

The APC National Working Committee Members at the meeting were, National Organising Secretary, Alh. Suleiman Argungu, National Welfare Secretary – Sir F.N. Nwosu, National Auditor, Sen. Abubakar Maikafi, National Legal Adviser, Barr. Ahmad El-Marzuq, among others.
