Thousands mark Takutaha day in Kano

Thousands of Muslims have marked the Takuhata festival celebrated seven days after 12 Rabiul Awwal, the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), in Kano State.

On Sunday, most of the participants dressed in white clothes, with some on horseback, marched through the streets of the ancient city reciting praise songs of the prophet.

Daily Trust further reports that the birthday of the holy prophet was marked on Sunday, September 15, across the Muslim world.
