Terrorists’ attack: Niger Republic’s traditional rulers on sympathy visit to Yobe

A delegation of traditional rulers from Niger Republic has visited Yobe State to express sympathy over the recent floods and terrorist attacks in Mafa, which claimed lives and damaged properties in parts of the state.

The delegation, led by the Emir of Maine-Soroa, Abdou Katielou Katiella Gasso, emphasised the close cultural, religious, and familial ties between the people of Niger and Yobe.

“As good neighbours, we are obliged to stand by you during such trying moments,” the Emir stated, adding that any adversity faced by Yobe also affects the Niger Republic due to their shared heritage and close relations through intermarriages.

In response, Governor Mai Mala Buni appreciated the delegation’s visit, noting their solidarity during challenging times.

He commended the traditional rulers for upholding the historical ties between their people and emphasised the importance of continuing to strengthen these bonds.
