Tension is gathering in Adamawa State, North East Nigeria following the announcement of All Progressives Congress, APC Governorship candidate as winner of the rerun governorship election by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC.
The Acting National Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP described it as a coup against the people’s mandate and thus called on relevant security agents to arrest the REC before angry citizens set the state on fire.
Governor Umaru Fintiri has called for calm stressing that the announcement is illegal and will not stand.
The governor in a state broadcast commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC national body for distancing themselves from the REC who he said want to set Adamawa on fire.
Meanwhile, both APC and PDP supporters have reacted while Security has been beefed up as tension is charged in the state.
