Reportedly asked them “You don’t have fridges, so why do you need electricity?”
Conny Nkalitshana, the mayor of eMalahleni, has denied claims that she declared residents don’t need energy because they don’t have refrigerators. She claims a mother who had just lost her nephew spoke those comments. She claims that a misunderstanding led to the attack on her.
