Program manager empowers 500 women with vocational skills

The Program Manager Rural Vocational Skills Program of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Farida Musa Jauro has empowered five hundred Women with Vocational Skills in Adamawa State, Northeast Nigeria.

The Women who were equipped with various skills in Carpet Making, Make-Up, Bags, and shampoo among others were drawn from Mubi in Adamawa.

The program manager noted that the training aims to empower women who are the custodians of the home with the necessary skills to become self-reliant.

According to her, the gesture was to compliment the federal government’s efforts in empowering Nigerians to boost the economy of the country.

She explained that similar training will be conducted in other parts of the country to reduce poverty among Women.

Farida appreciated the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Doctor Betta Edu for supporting the programme and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding her worthy to serve.

She reiterated the commitment of President Tinubu’s administration towards alleviating Poverty and Wealth Creation. She urged the beneficiaries of the training to extend the knowledge they have acquired to others in their Community.

Speaking during the event, the District Head of Yadafa in Mubi South local government area Mallam Baba Galadima lauded Hajiya Farida for her foresight in bringing the program to Mubi and called on beneficiaries to use the skills they have acquired to improve their livelihood.

He particularly thanked President Tinubu for his giant strides in developing Nigeria through his good policies and programs that have a direct bearing on the lives of the people and commended the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation for supporting their daughter to serve in her ministry.

Speaking in an interview, a Member Representing the Mubi North constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly Yohanna MusaJauro, and a Former Member Representing the Jada-Mbulo constituency, Hammanjoda Umar Farang lauded the initiative of Hajiya Farida in empowering the Women and urged the beneficiaries to use the knowledge acquired for the purpose intended.

Some beneficiaries of the training, Rebecca Maina a student of Carpet Making, Maryam Ahmed a student of Make-Up and Hauwa Buba Mubi a student of Bag making appreciated Hajiya Farida, President Tinubu, and Doctor Betta Edu for empowering them to be self-reliant.

They promised to use their skills in establishing businesses to improve their standard of living.

Key persons who graced the occasion were district heads from Mubi and Maiha, Politicians, and religious leaders among other critical stakeholders
