Police Nab 3 killers Of Head Teacher

The Nigerian Police Force, Bornu State Command has arrested three members of Civilian Joint Task Force(CJTF) for allegedly killing a 42 year-old teacher, Babagana Ahmed Gaidam.

Before his death, the victim was a Head Teacher at Asheikh Jarma Mega School, Bulumkuttu-Abuja, Maiduguri. He was allegedly stabbed to death by the suspected assailants at his residents in the early hours of Monday.

The late Babagana was said to have relieved the three suspects of their roles as security men in the school after they were accused of stealing school property.  

It was also gathered from the victim’s wife that the suspects reportedly came to the late Banagana’s residence after their disengagement and threatened him “To stay away from them or else they will kill him”. 

It was reported that the assailants, true to their words returned in the middle of the night in a tricycle to the victim’s house, scaled the fence and broke into his room while he was asleep. 

They overpowered and attacked him with a knife, leaving him in a pool of blood. His wife said that her late husband recognised his killers as he was heard screaming the namne of one of the suspects untill he gave up. 

A Police source said the three suspected persons were arrested at Bulumkuttu-Abuja on Tuesday, following a directive by the Commissioner of Police.

“The name given by the wife of the deceased which the victim was mentioning before his death, made it very easy to identify the suspected culprits.  

“The three suspects would be transferred to the State’s Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of the Command for investigation”, said the Police source.

The Police said the suspects would soon have their day in court. The murder had left the town in complete turmoil since Monday and residents have now heaved a sigh of since the arrest of the prime suspects. Members of the community have however urged the Police to expedite actions on the case to quickly bring it to a closure.
