The Kano State Police Command has arrested 26 suspected mobile phone snatchers and armed robbers and recovered 126 stolen mobile phones.
In a statement, the command’s spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, also stated that other items recovered included abused substances, weapons and laptops.
He said that the operations during which the suspects were arrested were carried out between September 1 and 12, 2024, with the aim at addressing the menace of mobile phone snatching/robbery bedevilling some parts of the state’s metropolis.
Kiyawa said the suspects would be charged to court after investigation while the recovered phones would be returned to their owners after proper identification and verification.
