Nigerian airlines under the umbrella of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) are shutting down operations, with effect from Monday.

AON said the current situation with Jet A1 has shot up the cost of operations to over 95 percent.

The decision was taken due to the skyrocketing cost of Aviation fuel, now at N700 per litre.

The Operator’s President, Alhaji Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, sent a the message in a letter to the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika.
