Operatives of Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) have arrested a suspected fake soldier, one suspected fake Police officer and one youth corp member, among 663 other drug offenders, in separate raids of drugs joint in Lagos, Abuja, Benue and others.
The Agency said its men in Lagos raided the dreaded Akala drug haven in Mushin on Friday, 15th October with a combined team of 70 NDLEA operatives and 30 soldiers in a joint operation code named: “Operation Still Waters.”
It said no less that 27 suspects were arrested. Drugs such as Cocaine, Heroin, Tramadol, Rohypnol and Cannabis, with a cumulative weight of 2,463.876 Kg were seized in that operation, the Agency stated.
Operatives also raided drug joints in Ojo and Maryland areas of the State the previous day, where six persons were arrested and different quantities of drugs seized.
Another raid of Alhaji Lasisi street, Idioro, Mushin as well as Okota in Oshodi-Isolo area of the State during which 12 suspects were arrested and over 165kg of assorted illicit drugs recovered.
Operatives in Ogun State, on Friday 15th, October intercepted one Williams Esuabom along Ore- Shagamu expressway with 562.5kg of Cannabis concealed in a Sienna bus en route a yet to be ascertained destination.
