The Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN) has told all users of musical works and sound recordings in the country and all around the world that the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) is not a collective management organization known to the law.
The newly re-elected Chairman of MCSN, Orits Williki at a press conference held in Lagos said that COSON does not have the approval of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC).

Williki also called on all existing MCSN licensees and users of music in general to do the needful by updating their licenses in order not to face the wrath of copyright infringement.
