Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State Tuesday donated the sum of five million naira to victims of Yola market Inferno.
The Governor gave the donation when he visited the market to commiserate with the market community over the incident that he described as unfortunate.
He said each of the ten shop victims will be assisted with five hundred thousand naira to enable them recover losses and continue with their businesses.
Fintiri added that his administration will also build the market to modern standard to boost the economy of the state.
Earlier in his remarks, the Vice Chairman of Yola South Local Government Area Council, Mr Nathaniel Pagiel thanked the state government for its timely intervention to contain the fire.
The fire disaster which broke out at pass nine, Monday night engulfed ten shops of provisions and grains, destroying goods worth millions of naira.
