Makinde Distributes Food To Oyo Residents

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has assured that his administration would address the issue of hunger, poverty and economic stagnation.

Makinde gave this assurance at the Oba Lamidi Adeyemi mini stadium in Oyo town during the flagoff of the distribution of food relief items targeted at over 200,000 households.

Residents of Oyo town, South West Nigeria converged on the Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi stadium to partake in the initiative.

The Governor took the delivery of the food relief items to various households in the ancient Oyo town.

Some residents however, called for a more holistic approach towards the distribution system.

The food relief package contains 10 kilograms of Rice, 5 kilograms of Beans, Yam Flour and Vegetable oil.

The governor noted that distribution of the food relief items would be replicated in six other administrative zones of the state while authorities have promised to provide farm inputs to over 10,000 farmers, fertilizer as well as soft loans to help develop small and medium scale businesses.
