Livebridge provides free medical services, feeds 1,000 Abuja IDPs

Livebridge Properties and Investment Limited has provided free medical services to about 1,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and People With Disability (PWD) in Karamajiji community of Abuja in the FCT.

The outreach, which took place on Friday, aimed to alleviate the economic and healthcare challenges faced by vulnerable Nigerians.

In addition to the medical services, the company distributed food items, wheelchairs and other essential supplies to support the beneficiaries.

Speaking at the event, Livebridge’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Nwaneri Obinna Flaker, said, “It is both a great pleasure and privilege to give back to the community. This is something we do annually as part of our corporate social responsibility.”

Flaker noted that the outreach coincided with his birthday, making the occasion even more special, saying, “It gladdens my heart to use this day to reach out to those in need.”

Noting the high cost of healthcare in Nigeria, Flaker urged the federal government to take more decisive actions to expand access to primary healthcare services.

He said, “The cost of drugs is beyond the reach of the common man. We advise that the government should intervene, particularly in primary healthcare delivery, as many Nigerians are unable to access these essential services.”

Ejembi Alice, Head of Customer Service at Livebridge, emphasised the importance of supporting vulnerable communities during such challenging times.

Alice said, “If people who can fend for themselves are struggling, imagine the plight of those with disabilities. That’s why we are here today – to offer some relief and show love to this community.”

One of the beneficiaries, Abdullah Yusuf, expressed gratitude to the company, saying, “We are very happy and we pray for more of this to come again. May God bless you.”

The Chief of Karamajiji community, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammed, expressed gratitude and prayed for the company’s progress and development.

He said, “We are very happy and we pray for more of this to come again.”
