Lagos had 75 deaths in eight months – FRSC

The Lagos state command of the Federal Road Safety Corps says that 75 persons lost their lives in road traffic crashes in the state between January and August.

The FRSC Lagos Sector Commander, Babatunde Farinloye said that 1,611 persons were involved in crashes within the period.

Farinloye said that in the period, there were 102 minor accident cases and 158 serious cases.

He said that the command had deployed 324 personnel to its checkpoints to ensure safety within the last eight months.

He added that the command recorded 53,564 offences, with 44,269 offenders within the period.

The sector commander advised motorists and pedestrians to imbibe a safety culture.
