Kraken Forward Andre Burakovsky Misses Second Practice For Maintenance

Seattle Kraken forward Andre Burakovsky was absent from practice for the second time due to maintenance.

Burakovsky has struggled with injuries in his Kraken career but felt confident and prepared heading into the 2024-25 season. He felt he had recovered from his injuries and was able to work on his game in the offseason. In his pre-season debut against the Vancouver Canucks, Burakovsky showed just that.

He recorded an assist on the Kraken’s only goal and was the main play driver throughout the 60 minutes.

With the injury history the 29-year-old has, it’s easy to get worked up about him missing practices but HC Dan Bylsma has assured fans that he’s just “maintenancing a bump and a bruise.”

The Swedish winger was instrumental in the Kraken’s run to the playoffs in 2022-23 and his struggles reflected the season the team had last year. If he can stay healthy and keep his game at a high level, the Kraken could be competing in the Stanley Cup playoffs come April.
