Gombe Gov’t donates N150m to Borno, Yobe flood victims

eputy overnor, Manassah Daniel Jatau, made the donation ,  that such devastating incident should never reoccur in the history of Borno tate.

Conveying the heartfelt sympathy of the governor and people of Gombe at the Government House and the Shehu of Bornos palace in Maiduguri, the deputy governor said the visit was informed by the bond existing between the two states.

Secretary to the state government, Prof Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, said news of the devastating flood an official engagement outside the country but directed that he should visit in view of the friendship existing between the two neighbouring states.

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum expressed appreciation over the concern and love shown to them in this trying time.

He also acknowledged and appreciated the donations of 100 million from Gombe tate overnment, pledging to use it judiciously towards mitigating the effect of the flood.

Dr Manassah Jatau, speaking on behalf of Governor Inuwa Yahaya, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident in the community, calling it both sad and unfortunate.

He said the N50 million donation is to aid the state government in providing much-needed assistance to the affected victims.

Governor Buni while receiving the delegation, expressing profound appreciation for the support.

He described the visit as a demonstration of a strong bond of brotherhood and love between Gombe and Yobe tates.

He  that while the financial aid will significantly help the victims, the act of solidarity and care in such trying times will be remembered as a remarkable show of unity between the two neighbouring states.

Governor Buni noted that the donation and the visit are not only a source of immediate relief but also a lasting symbol of the friendship and cooperation between the people of Gombe and Yobe.
