Foundation awards scholarships to Ogun students

The House of Emmanuels Foundation has awarded full and partial scholarships to 100 exceptional students in Ogun State.

The beneficiaries were shortlisted out of the pool of students who took part in the foundation’s examination under its programme tagged “THOE Young Scholars.”

The founder and chairman of the foundation, Olu Emmanuel while speaking at the event held in Abeokuta, said the gesture was part of the organisation’s vision to empower the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers by inspiring dreams.

Emmanuel who was represented by the Project Coordinator, Olusanya Olusegun, said the beneficiaries’ hard work, dedication, and perseverance earned them the scholarship and the recognition.

The Chairman said “Our foundation’s mission is to empower the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers by inspiring dreams. We recognize that education is the cornerstone of personal and societal growth. Our scholarship program aims to bridge the financial gap, providing opportunities for deserving students to pursue their dreams.

“As you embark on this educational journey, remember that knowledge is power. Use it wisely. Challenge yourselves, explore new horizons, and cultivate empathy, compassion, and resilience.

“To our awardees, I offer three key takeaways: excellence is a continuous pursuit, not a destination; failure is not the opposite of success; it’s a stepping stone and your education is not just about personal growth; it’s about making a positive impact in your communities.”

The Country Lead of THOE, Olabode Damilare explained students from 20 secondary schools in Abeokuta South Local Government Area took part in the examination out of which 20 best participants were selected for full scholarships.

Damilare said the 20 students were awarded full scholarships of three years from SS1 to SS3.

He said the scholarship covers levies, uniforms, bags, textbooks, notebooks as well as payment of the beneficiaries’ WAEC & JAMB fees.

Damilare added that 80 beneficiaries under partial scholarship were given basic needs like sandals, school bags and notebooks.
