Families Of Abducted Abuja-Kaduna Train Passengers To Stop Restart Of Service.

Some members of the Families of kidnapped Abuja-Kaduna train passengers have vowed to protest at train stations in Abuja and Kaduna over the planned resumption of the service.

The Managing Director, Nigeria Railway Corporation, Fidet Okhiria, said the corporation was under pressure from Nigerians to resume operation along that axis.

Okhiria spoke while featuring on a programme on Arise News. He said the NRC weighed options before deciding to resume operations.

He described some of those claiming to be relatives of those in captivity as fake. The Railway Boss said that the NRC is in touch with the real ones.

Leaders of the victims’ families under the umbrella of Relatives of AK9 Abuja-Kaduna Train Kidnapped Passengers, insisted that operations would not resume until their loved ones safely return.

One of the leaders of the group, Hassan Mohammed, said a peaceful protest would be held in Abuja and Kaduna for the NRC to rescind its decision.
