The legislative writers forum, National Assembly, Abuja has honoured Eko Smile Support and Empowerment initiative, Kaduna with a meritorious Award of Excellence in recognition of her outstanding role in transmitting smiles to the downtrodden.
The non-governmental-and not- for profit was born out of the need to support in improving the living standard, eradication of hunger and poverty of the vulnerable population in our society.
Presenting the award, the Organizing Secretary of the forum, Mr Abraham Ogwaje,who led the special delegation to the CEO of Eko Smile in Kaduna said the organization endorsed and approved the recognition and award to further motivate and encourage other sister NGO’s to follow suit in putting smiles on the faces of the poor and the most vulnerable in the society.
Similarly Mr Abraham disclosed that the forum conferred Eko Smile as the best NGO in Kaduna because such awards are bestowed on the most noticable NGO’s that have made appreciable impact in the society.
He explained that the forum has viewed with satisfaction the tremendous effort of Eko smile in advancing the welfare of the poor, internally displaced persons and the downtrodden in the society.
Responding, the Eko Smile founder, Miss Blessing Eko appreciated the forum for the recognition, describing the award as a great motivation and encouragement to do more sacrifices and offer selfless service to humanity.
She commended the forum for it’s enlightenment programs aimed at encouraging hard-work, dedication and commitment to the society. She further called on the National Assembly and the relevant institutions at all levels to support and empower the NGOs because of their crucial role in uplifting the windows and the downtrodden in the society.
